Happy UN-anniversary

Yes, today, March 5th is, would be, should be, my...OUR 6 year wedding anniversary. Kinda BIG, huh?

6 years ago today on March 5, 2005 I promised to love and cherish my "best friend" I promised to pick him up when he was down, to love him till the end of time.

6 years ago today we were getting married, at sunset, in Maui, on Makena Beach, (yes, we named our daughter Makena, after the place we committed our lives to each other.)

6 years ago this was me:

6 years ago this was "us":

6 years later "we" have this:

6 years later this is the "new us":

6 years later we shouldn't be going through a divorce.

6 years later we should be celebrating and snuggling with our baby.

As heartbroken as I am, as lost and sad, angry and confused... The new us is looking pretty darn good.

Here's to the next 6 years...dream big or go home...

I just wanted to tell you that you are not alone. I am a single mom too going through a divorce that will be final at the end of this month. It is hard and I've been reading through your posts and some have brought tears to my eyes. You have a beautiful daughter. Right now I live for my son...he is my sunshine. If you ever want to talk, just send me an email I know for me sometimes it is nice to be able to talk to someone who is going through the same thing. I really have no one that knows what this is like so I wanted to reach out to you :)

I stumbled across your blog today by chance, from another person's blog. I am glad I did. While, I am not a single mother, my mother was. I am divorced, so I get it - it hurts. Your story is inspiring. Stay strong. You and Makena will be in my thoughts and prayers.
