the lake...

So...I'm sure you've heard of the blog Enjoying The Small Things, her story is amazing. Her daughter Nella was born with down syndrome. You can read her amazing birth story here. If you're like me and already follow her blog, you get excited when Kelly adds a new post, her words, her photography and life all seem so fun and amazing. The other day she posted about The Lake...right then and there I wanted Makena to have lake adventures... On our stroll to the tain tracks we stopped by the pond...Lake.

We laid out our quilt on top of the grass covered in duck poop...sat and watched....

We brought some stale crackers...

I want Makena to have adventures and stories. I want her to remember the train tracks and the lake. I want her to be excited about the little things like taking strolls to the park after mommy gets home or walking the resivour.  I want her to know the best things in life are free. The tracks will always be there...and our "lake" will be there too...
