untitled...

I have a thing with letting people into my world.
I think I've always been this way.
But more so going through my divorce.
It's definitely made me think twice on who to trust and who to let in.
There are only so many people who want to really hear your heart or your feelings.

There are only a few people who can handle it.

So for the most part I usually keep to myself.
My thoughts.
My heart.

Then there are people that come into your life when you least expect.
You may have known them forever,
Maybe you've just met them.
But instantly you know them,
They know you.

You build a bond.
Trust forms.
A deeper connection is made.

They understand you.
They listen to your words.
Your heart.

They build you up, not bring you down.
Their words are motivating.
Their silence is strong.

These are the people you want to surround yourself with.
These are the ones who you can go days, weeks, months without speaking to.
But connect like you just saw them yesterday.

They're the ones who you can tell anything to.
You can cry in front of.
You can lean on.

You can sit in silence and you'll know each others thoughts.
They sense your mood.
They know your battles.
They know your strengths and weaknesses.

These friendships.
These people.

These are the ones worth holding onto.
These are the ones you want to know.
The ones who's worlds you want to be part of.

These are the ones who make differences.
The ones who smile and turn negative into positive.

These are the ones that fight the biggest battles,
But will help you fight yours before their own.

If you have anyone in your life like this...
Be grateful.

These people are rare.

Tell them you appreciate them.
Tell them what they mean to you.

You may miss the chance.

Talk more.
Laugh more.
Be more open and honest.

I'd rather one friend like this than a million or five not so great ones.

Hug them.
Build them up.
Treat them like you want to be treated.

These are the special ones.
The ones that when you think you may loose them your heart hurts.

The ones that you least expect.
They're the ones changing the world.
They're the ones who you want to know.
