a christmas house...

As I'm sitting here at 11:30 pm suffering from my normal, nightly battle of insomnia, I'm curled up on my couch with the glow of my Christmas tree and the hum of my heater...it's a loud hum mind you. I'm siting in peace writing this post and feeling thankful for this little apartment we call home. It's old and I complain about it often. I can hear every footstep and word spoken above me, it doesn't have air or a washer and dryer, the heating is terrible, but this is our home. This is the place we play, laugh and snuggle. This is the place I can afford on my own and provide for my daughter. This is where I cook our meals, give my baby a bath and watch Cinderella on repeat because we don't have cable. This is where I've struggled the most and this is where I've healed the most.

This is my home. This is my magical Christmas home. It's small and nothing too fancy, but it's cozy and comfortable and full of magical memories...

This is her home...and gaaaaaa....look at her:

I saw these little felt Christmas trees on Pinterest and thought, "Duh, I can do that!"

We're missing stockings...I'm working on it, hopefully before Santa arrives...

Diet Coke on my tree...check.

The Bucks' up in there too...check.

("Those are two of my favorite things..." A Christmas jingle.)

We're doing Elf on The Shelf, but she's two and we're going with it our way. She's named him "Horsey" which originally she said, "A Boy" Thankfully she changed her mind. She's allowed to touch him, in fact she goes to bed with him and I sneak in at night and place him else where. He's flown with the butterflies in her room, made her breakfast and soon you'll see what he's been up to tonight...

In this house I live for candles. I can't get enough.

You can never have enough pictures...Santa through the years...waaaa. We'll be seeing that guy this coming weekend twice. Which will officially my it four times...and she'll probably ask for ice cream and tell him she brushed her teeth. She's amazing that kid.

It's pure Christmas magic I tell ya.

Horsey....Just taking on ride on the train tonight...

Oh and the other child of mine...Milo

Merry Christmas from our home to yours!
