apartment tour: living room

Hi all...

Remember my apartment tour... well, I thought since I cleaned up the little casa (Yes! Sister, it's CLEAN!) I thought I'd snap a few pictures before it winds up like this again.

So...We're in the living room tonight...Pretty much where most of the time is spent when we're home. Although...we're rarely ever home...I don't like feeling cramped, I hate living in an apartment...so, if I'm not working we're out and about.

This is the view from the kitchen looking into the living room:

We have a big tv...no cable...no DVD player either!!! We do stream Netflix but besides tons of episodes of Dora...the TV is hardly ever on. I'm a SUCKER for TV...give me a DVR and that bad boy is JAM packed with terrible TV. Since we're on our own and I can barely keep up with the basic bills...cable took a back seat...which is actually kind of nice. I don't want Buggy plopped in front of the TV all day and I surely don't need to be plopped in front of it either...We play more, read books and once the little one is out I get my craftiness on.

 Front door view:

Just a small love seat...(we don't have many visitors...no TV to watch...so really...why not just sit on the floor!) No coffee table either...I had one and my cute little pup decided it was a pee post...oh dogs...aren't they lovely. But, with Makena crawling around and hopefully learning to walk soon (she's a lazy one...) it gives us more space without.

This is the "friendly" pee dog...Milo. He is pretty much the only one that sits on the couch:

Fun bright pillows...

Pretty much EVERYTHING in the living room is from good 'ol Ikea...

Basket of blankets...yes please...

My lovely DIY frames, black and white pictures Ikea:

Behind the curtains is a sliding door to the patio...(the only one who gets use of it is Milo.) Shelf is from a garage sale, cute little old man selling a hole bunch of crap...and I think he ripped me off $15.00 bucks? Toys...Toys...and more TOYS...

It's only the little lady and I say we're trying to make this place as girly as possible...beaded necklace on the lamp shade, yummy scented candles:

Fake flowers...Vase...painted by yours truly:

Do you see my green aviators...Thank you Target clearence...$3.00:

Hope...True statement:

Before I had Makena...I dressed my dog...Makena's hospital picture...a touch of Disney:

My yawning sweets at two weeks old:

The little touches that make an apartment a home:

Makena's birthday candle, a picture of my family and I when I was a wee-one:

Toys...Looking a bit on the creepster side:

Constant reminder:

My sista' and I...empty picture frames...

How cute is my dinning table??? $10 buckaroos... refinished by my dad when I first moved out at 18! Chairs from Ikea:

Finishing off the night with some candle light and wine...how romantic right? I know...if only I wasn't alone!

Hope you enjoyed chatting in the living room with me! Now, once I move the mess from the kitchen that was in the living room, I'll show you around...

xo,

dani

I love your place and the decorations. My favourite is the Relax and Wish signs on the shelf.
