Happy 4th of July!
Or 9th...
Whichever way you want go,
Happy day to ya!
This year, like last year my little Bug and I got up early and participated in a 5k race.
Last year I said I'd make it a tradition...
By golly I think I'm following through.
Two years in a row...obviously a tradition in the making.
I'm TRYING to push myself with running. It really does help clear my mind and get some focus on my life....
Who knew working out can benefit in so many ways...
And uhhh....running while pushing a stroller with an almost two year old is a bit tough...
But we managed, and enjoyed.
Unlike last year,
This year was just my sweets and I.
Which I've come to accept. The invitation was open to spend the day with us...or the Bugs, but the offer was not accepted, which is fine.
As Buggy grows and I grow I'm learning to appreciate being along with her, making memories, seeing things and experiencing things.
For a long while and I still have my moments that get uncomfortable being in family situations,
you know, mom, dad, kids...the "normal."
I never wanted people judging me, mostly it's in my head I'm sure. But the family is always what I wanted. Especially when it came to holidays and activities like the 5k run followed by the parade.
I won't lie, I get slightly jealous seeing families. Why can't I have that, she have that, WE have that.
But when it comes down to it.
I do. She does. We do.
After I worked my booty off running they serve muffins and fruit and we stood around for a bit and people watched.
My little chick thought it would be mucho fun to run through the "tunnel"
We headed over to the book store before the parade started...
She's still too little in my opinion to hang out for a LONG parade and be entertained...
Later in the day we headed over to a pool party...
My little girl is a FISH.
Thank goodness too,
her momma HATES the water.
I'm praying she doesn't take after me in that sense.
She was pretty fearless...in my eyes anyways, considering I'm slightly scared of water.
Let me correct myself,
I like the water, I like being in and around it.
But when it comes to going underwater, being splashed, jumping...
No thank you.
But she was jumping off the steps and "swimmin'"
"I go swimmin' momma" "I go swimmin' in the boat momma"
Loved it.
Now she wants to go swimmin' daily...
And what's 4th of July with out a Lime-A- Rita...
What in the world...
These were quite heavenly...
Hope you all had a lovely time celebrating.
We skipped the fireworks this year too...
My Bug is usually in bed by 7....
XO
Dani

I think a 5k is such a great holiday tradition- very fun & healthy! I always gives props to the Mamas who push their kids while running! Your little one is adorable! And YUM, I love Lima-a-ritas!
She is so cute! I know what you mean by wishing you had a "family" like everyone else seems to. I don't miss my ex whatsoever or wish I had a family with him but I wish I was married to someone else, possibly with another baby on the way :) Ahh... we can dream, right?
Looks like a fun 4th Dani! She is so darn cute! Her and Landyn would have a BALL together xoxo
First I thought you were amazing by doing a run in the first place ... then I saw the 2 and 3 mile markers ... um youre like super woman. It takes a lot of effort and someone dangling cheezeits in front of my face to get me to get the mail! WOW!
Then I saw what you treated yourself with ... and let me tell you ... I am JEALOUS! Have one for me cause I've got 7 more weeks of my little nugget cooking in my belly. :)
Awww it sounds like you guys had an awesome time ! Good on you for sticking to the running. I know just how hard it is to push a 2 year old in a pram, where I live seems to be uphill everywhere, well it's the only exercise I get so I can't really complain ! Happy 4th
